Stockholm — 500 Years in 50 Minutes

Join us for a guided tour that takes you from King Gustav Vasa’s rise to power to Stockholm’s punk scene in the late 1970s

On this tour, you will discover how Stockholm changed from the 16th century to today. We will guide you through the museum’s main exhibition, taking a closer look at how the city has transformed over the centuries.

We begin with the Reformation and move swiftly through Sweden’s era as a European empire and the plague. After that, we cover industrialisation and the expansion of the modern underground metro system.

Along the way, we will explore the key events that shaped the capital. We will also reflect on what daily life was like for Stockholmers throughout history.
