Image usage

When publishing, you must state the author and source. You are responsible for ensuring that you have any necessary permissions to publish the image.

Creator and source

You must state the photographer’s name and the City Museum in Stockholm in connection with the published image or in a separate list of images. When publishing artwork, you must state the artist’s name.

Your responsibility as a publisher

You are responsible for ensuring that you have any necessary permissions to publish the image. You may need approval from the author or the person who owns the rights. This applies, for example, to all types of depicted artistic works.

You may also not use or modify the image in a way that may offend the author or a depicted person.Reference copy

If the image is printed, we would appreciate it if you could send a copy of the publication to the City Museum’s library. Most often, the publication is then registered in the City Museum’s library catalog and the Royal Library’s catalog LIBRIS.

Use in advertising and privacy

According to the Name and Image in Advertising Act (1978:800), a person who can be recognized himself must give consent to the use of advertising. The responsibility for this lies entirely with the person who publishes the image.

Otherwise, we refer to the Act on Copyright for Literary and Artistic Works (1960:729; 2005:359; 2005:360) and to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
