Using our photos
Always credit the photographer and the museum when you publish a photo. You are responsible for getting any permissions needed for publication.
Creator and source
Credit the photographer and Stockholm City Museum next to the photo or in a list of image credits. If the photo shows a work of art, you must also credit the artist.
Your responsibility when publishing
You are responsible for clearing any copyright permissions. You may need consent from the photographer, artist, or rights holder before publishing. This may apply, for example, when an image contains a work of art.
Send us a reference copy
If you publish the photo in print, please send a copy to our library. We usually add it to the museum library catalogue, and sometimes to the Royal Library’s LIBRIS catalogue.

Advertising and privacy laws
Under Sweden’s Name and Image in Advertising Act (1978:800), a recognisable person must consent to the use of their image in advertising. The person publishing the image is responsible for obtaining this consent.
Other uses are subject to the Swedish Copyright Act (1960:729) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
