Cafe

Meet new and old friends over a lunch or Swedish fika, enjoy homemade cakes and pastries or grab a sandwich.

Visit the museum’s cafe on level 0. In summer, the courtyard restaurant is also open.

Opening hours

Open until 30 minutes before the museum closes. Hot dishes are served until 1 hour before closing.

Cashless payment

The cafe is cashless, pay with card or Swish.

Daily specials September 15–18

Tisdag Salmon and egg bake with melted lemon butter
Onsdag Isterband — a classic tangy, smoked Swedish pork sausage served with parsley-creamed potatoes and beetroots
Torsdag Crispy slices of cured pork belly paired with a rich, sweet onion cream sauce
Fredag Tender, slow-cooked veal served in a sweet-and-sour creamy dill sauce

Price: SEK 135. Side salad, bread, spreads, and coffee or tea after your meal are included. Daily specials are served until sold out, but a selection of hot dishes is always available from our regular menu. Subject to change.

Regular menu

The menu varies daily depending on the season and the availability of ingredients. There are always vegetarian and vegan options for both food and dessert. If you have special dietary requirements, ask at the checkout. We can usually adapt a dish for you.

Soup

Creamy mushroom soup with croutons & basil oil. SEK 100.

Pie

Västerbotten cheese pie with basil oil and prosciutto. Served with homemade bread and spreads. SEK 130.

Hot dishes

Including side salad, bread, spreads plus coffee/tea.

  • Rich fish (pollock) and prawn stew with rouille. SEK 155.
  • Homemade meatballs in creamy gravy with mashed potatoes; served with lingonberries and fresh pickled cucumber. SEK 155.
  • Parsnip and potato patties with cheese cream sauce, paprika sauce and basil oil; served on whole wheat salad. SEK 155.

Children’s menu

  • Pancake with jam and whipped cream, SEK 15 each.
  • Our hot dishes are available as a half-size portion, SEK 75.
  • Daily specials, half-size portion, SEK 65.

Cookies and sandwiches

  • Home-baked cookies, SEK 20.
  • Home-baked cakes, SEK 40.
  • Pannacotta, SEK 45.
  • Oat ball, SEK 25.
  • Smoothie, SEK 30.
  • Museum sandwiches. The selection varies daily, but often you can find Creamy Shrimp Salad, Salmon, Roast Beef, Meatballs, Chèvre and Falafel (Vegan). SEK 45 (or 3 for SEK 120). 

Beverages

  • Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, SEK 30.
  • Cold drinks, SEK 20–35.
